Privacy Policy

Why do we collect your information?

We collect your data so that we can supply our products and services to you in a professional and timely manner, or so that we can provide you with information (such as a quote) that you have requested.

What information do we collect?

To supply our services to you we need to collect your names, address, a phone number and your email address.
We also need the date, location, and time of your wedding as we may find it difficult photographing your big day without it. We could just find a wedding happening nearby and photograph that, but we don't think you would be happy with the photos if we did!

What we do with your information?

We use your information to contact you regarding your photography, services you have requested, and for the fulfilment of our contract with you. Your details will always stay safe in my old-fashioned address book.

What we don't do with your information.

We do not share your personal information with any third parties at any time unless there is a legitimate legal basis, or we are legally required, to do so. If we need to share your information with a third party without a legitimate legal basis or requirement, such as if we are unable to complete your wedding due to ill health, then we will always seek your permission first, there is never any hidden small text in any contract.

How we keep your information safe.

I was tempted to say I put it in my pillow case as no one would ever think of looking for it there, but that may not considered a safe and secure place by the nice people at ICO, especially as I sleep very heavily!
Instead I thought it would be a good idea to keep it in a locked filing cabinet, in a locked room, in a locked house! All details are kept in a folder safely stowed in a filing cabinet,  along with all my personal details, and is kept very safe.

How long do we keep your data?

We keep your data on file for seven years. This is because the tax man (in all his glory) can request such information as contracts, receipts and other stuff for up to six years after the event has occurred.

Do we store your personal information digitally?

We do store some of your information digitally for as long as we need to fulfil your contract and/or the services you have requested from us. This will be your email address in our email client, and your phone number on our business mobile.
As we back up your photo's free of charge for a minimum of 5 years we do need to be able to find them if you need copies, thus your first names and wedding date are used as a naming convention for the folder they are kept in on external hard drives.

Can I ask you to send me any personal information you have on me?

Yes, you can, and I will be happy to do so.

Can I ask you to delete the personal information you have on me?

Yes, you can, but this will also include deleting the backup photos that could be used to identify yourselves, and your online gallery. In some cases, we may not be able to delete your data, but we will let you know why if this is the case.
