Life behind the lens

Looking at my life, behind the lens, and away from it.

My life can be a little hectic. When I'm behind the lens I'm usually concentrating so hard on getting that perfect shot that I am completely oblivious to the rest of the world. In doing so, I have had a few accidents! I've often fallen over, or put myself in a position where I get stuck and can't get up, so I'm lucky to have the best assistant to help me on a lot of my shoots. My fiance, Eli, comes along to a lot of shoots, as he is so much better with people than I am, and he is really good at handing me the right equipment, helping me up and down in my old age, and being some really good support, as well as pointing out some things that I miss.

When I'm away from the lens I do a lot of very different things, I'm the type of person who can't have just one hobby, I always need something to do. I work part time at McDonald's, enjoying all of the very unhealthy food, I love to bake and cook, and I'm actually in the process of making my own recipe book! I love music, I love to sing and dance, and play the guitar, albeit I'm not very good at it! I love to write, and I have been writing a novel for the last few years, just can't seem to finish it, I love to do poetry, and creative writing, and I love to paint. I paint rocks, and miniatures, but my favourite is paint by numbers. See, I'm a very busy person, but there is one thing you can always catch me doing, scrolling through social media! I run a discord group for memes, I have a TikTok page with over 10,000 followers, and I seem to live on facebook. I love social media, and I think that it is an amazing way to connect with people and learn new things. I use social media to spread awareness of British Sign Language. I have been using sign since I was a young child, and in my spare time I am learning how to teach people sign language, so that I can spread the joys of communication to everyone.

For me, photography is an escape. The real world can be rough sometimes, and I see it very differently to others, as I am autistic, so I love being able to notice something that others may not even register, and photograph it in such a way that nobody has ever seen, I like to take long walks in the middle of the night to places people wouldn't think of going to, just to capture the sunrise, I find that this planet is a very beautiful one and I always get involved in the fight to keep this planet alive.
